What is Dance Marathon?
University of Nebraska Dance Marathon is an organization whose goal is to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Every year, we recruit students from all over campus to come together and fundraise for the hospital and our Miracle Kids. In total, UNDM has raised $1,669,944.58. The pinnacle of our year is our 13.1-hour “HuskerThon” where UNL students and kids who have been treated at Children’s Hospital come together to celebrate the funds & awareness we have raised and dance the night away. HuskerThon includes dancing, live acts, crafts, and activities for all ages. Additionally, we give the children an opportunity to showcase their talents in a “Kid’s Talent Show,” and even let the kids shave heads of Miracle Makers. We aim to create an event where kids can have fun with our Miracle Makers, and be themselves. We are “For Future Huskers”!

Why We Dance
Children in Nebraska dream of growing up & attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and becoming a Husker. While this is a dream many children treated at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center have, it is not everyone’s reality. Try to imagine having a dream of coming to college, and what would it be like to not grow up? Every child deserves to have the opportunity to grow up and come to college. Every child deserves the opportunity to become a FUTURE HUSKER.
